Some Tips on How to Travel to King's and City
The closest tube stations to King's College are Holborn (Picadilly Line) and Temple (Circle & District Lines). Covent Garden station (also on Picadilly Line is closed at present).
The closest tube stations to City University London are Angel (Northern Line) and Farringdon (Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City and Circle Lines).
If you are travelling from Cartwright Gardens you can also take various combinations of buses and tube to get to venues. Here are some recommendations:
King's College London (Strand Campus). The Nash Lecture Theatre is located at King's Building on the Strand. If you are staying at Cartwright Gardens, the quickest way to travel there is by bus by doing the following: walk to Tavistock Square (6 minutes), take Bus number 91 towards Trafalgar Square. Get off the bus at Aldwych/Somerset House (15/20 minutes). You will be right in front of King's College Building. This link shows you exactly how to get from Cartwright Gardens to King's. You can also walk (it should take about 30 minutes).
City University London (Northampton Square Campus). The ELG19 Lecture Theatre is located in the Drysdale Building of City University's Northampton Square Campus. If you are travelling from Cartwright Gardens you can walk to the British Library (6 minutes). Take any bus travelling towards Angel Tube Station (such as Bus 73, 205 or 476). This should take you about 15 minutes. Finally, walk down St John's Street to Northampton Square (15 minutes). Enter by the main Northampton Square entrance. You can also take the Tube at King's Cross St Pancras. Take the Northern Line to Angel (just one station) and then walk as above. This may be shorter than the Bus.
